Quality Manager

The Quality Manager will be expected to anticipate customer needs, find solutions related to manufacturing and product, and enforce the Zoran quality policy and procedure in the field. The quality manager’s mission is to enhance the quality and customer’s expectations.
This position is located in Tokyo, Japan. We are willing to look at candidates who currently reside in the US but who are willing to relocate to Japan. This position permanently resides in Japan and as such you would be an employee of Zoran Japan.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Work closely with functional groups (Q&R, Sales, and Business Units) within the company to manage customer RMAs, Customer Complaint validation, and Customer feedback
- Anticipate customers’ needs and provide a response that is better adapted in terms of service, satisfaction and solutions
- Work with the suppliers (assembly) on technical issues to enhance quality and reliability
- Develop efficient close-looped corrective and preventive actions, deliver efficient root cause and failure analysis reports, and monitor continued quality improvement.
- Maintain all systems platform at customer sites and Zoran sites
- Work closely with development teams in obtaining the systems, planning, training
- End-to-end collection of Quality Metrics
- Real-time Service Level & Monitoring and Historical Reporting
Required Education, Experience, and Skills:
The ideal candidate must have:
- A BSEE 10+ years experience in Electronic Design or Material Science
- At least two years of management experience
- Must be completely fluent in both English and Japanese
- Strong failure analysis knowledge for both through-hole & SMT electronics and bench testing is must.
- Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing flow and device test is essential
- Experience and knowledge in handling RMA
- Travel on a short notice would be required frequently
