Zoran Corporation, located in Sunnyvale, is looking for Software Engineers to join our Applications team within the Mobile division, where we develop chips and software for Digital Still and Video Cameras. Zoran is the leading provider of semiconductors for digital cameras and commands a significant share of this dynamic market.
Join the elite team of COACH (Camera On A Chip) application engineers to develop algorithms and software for our embedded solutions for digital cameras. Become a world-class expert in a large number of technical areas, including video/audio/image acquisition, image processing, still and video compression, storage, playback and streaming. Impact all technical aspects of the project, and design innovative features for the cameras of the future.
Responsibilities include working closely with key customers from project inception to mass production (occasional travel to support customers on-site is required), as well as tightly collaborating with Zoran’s worldwide application and engineering teams in Korea, Japan, Taiwan, China, US and Israel.
Responsibilities
Analyze, design, develop, debug, and optimize software features, enhancements and algorithms for Digital Still and Video Cameras. Interact with customers to define system requirements and make necessary modifications to create high-quality products.- Research innovative technologies, algorithms and products several years before they appear on the market
- Develop efficient firmware, using the C and C++ programming languages
- Co-work closely with the world’s leading camera manufacturers, adapting and customizing generic firmware to specific products and real-life applications
- Analyze, debug and fix complex problems and customer-specific issues
Requirements
- BSC, BSEE or BACS
- 0-2 years in embedded software and / or mobile application development & debugging
- C / C++ programming languages
- Strong engineering foundation, analytical and debugging skills
- Ability to read, understand and enhance existing code
- Good communication skills and strong team-player mindset
- Willing to travel 3-5 times a year to Asia (Japan, Korea, Taiwan & China) on a short notice
Preferred Skills
Experience with the following is a plus:- Experience with any kind of assembly language
- Hands-on experience with RTOS internals
- Understanding of system architecture and real-time, embedded software
- Image processing or digital camera applications development
- Prior work experience with consumer electronics products (DVD, smart phones, medical devices)
- Experience with multimedia applications, such as:
- JPEG, MPEG1/2/4, H.264 and other image/video compression standards
- AAC, MP2 MP3 and other audio standards
- AVI, MOV, MP4 and other file formats
- USB, NAND, SD, MS-pro and other peripheral hardware and media
