Zoran Demonstrates First Implementation of Windows Media Video for Digital Still Cameras and Camcorders at PMA in Orlando

COACH 8 Integrated HDMI Enables Viewing of WMV Clips on HDTVs

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Feb. 16, 2005 - Zoran Corporation (Nasdaq: ZRAN) announced that its highly integrated eighth generation COACH (Camera On A CHip) processor integrates technologies for capture and playback of Windows Media Video (WMV) on digital cameras and camcorders.

Zoran’s new digital camera reference designs will demonstrate the entire range of high-end COACH 8 features at the Photo Marketing Association (PMA) trade show in Orlando from February 20 to 23. The COACH 8 is the industry’s only integrated video codec solution that offers high quality video capture supporting Windows Media Video and an integrated High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI).

In addition to its quality and compression benefits, Windows Media Video works seamlessly with Windows XP and a variety of networked and portable consumer electronics devices. Windows Media Video files can be catalogued in Windows Media Player, edited in Windows Movie Maker, transferred across a home network or out to Windows Mobile-based Portable Media Centers, Pocket PCs and Smartphones.

"The ability to capture Windows Media Video on still cameras and camcorders using Zoran’s COACH 8 chip will empower consumers to do more with the video they shoot," said Amir Majidimehr, corporate vice president of the Windows Digital Media Division at Microsoft Corp. "Video that may have once been left on the camera or otherwise archived can now come to life thanks to the broad range of support for Windows Media on the PC and consumer electronics devices."

"Microsoft’s Windows Media Video is an important video standard supported by Zoran’s new COACH 8 solution. The combined technologies allow digital photographers to seamlessly transfer their high quality video to the PC where it can be played and shared with other PC users. Integral support for the popular Windows Media Player eliminates the need for any additional driver installations and makes video playback as easy as viewing still photos. In addition, Zoran’s Connect and Share technology enables cameras to store images and video clips directly onto DVD recorders and to print directly to most standard printers," said Camillo Martino, executive vice president and COO, Zoran Corporation.
