SupraHD 785
ATSC/NTSC DTV Module
|
Zoran’s SupraHD® 785 reference hardware module can be used in an LCD-based DTV. The reference TV application software complies with the ATSC broadcast standards.
The reference hardware module accepts the traditional video equipment interfaces including four (4) composite (CVBS), three (3) S-Video (Y/C), and dual-component video (YPbPr) inputs, as well as three (3) HDMI v.1.3 inputs with deep color. It also accepts VGA input from a personal computer, as well as 6 pairs of analog audio inputs.
For the output interfaces, the reference hardware module can directly drive an LCD panel up to 12 bit color. Other outputs are L/R audio for its internal speakers and S/PDIF for multi-channel output to an external audio receiver.
This chip is highly integrated, consisting of an MPEG-2 decoder, 8VSB/QAM demodulator, two (2) HD analog video inputs, NTSC video decoder, three HDMI 1.3 inputs with deep color, dual high-performance CPUs, powerful graphics engine, video scaler, video enhancement, dual-LVDS driver and various other peripherals necessary for building an integrated DTV.
The reference TV application supports all the basic functionalities required for a DTV, such as an ATSC/NTSC software stack, Electronic Program Guide (EPG), closed-caption decoding, parental control, basic audio control (i.e. bass, treble, balance), and basic video control (i.e. contrast, brightness, color and sharpness).
The reference design supports 1080p display in dual-channel LVDS output to flat panel displays.
